The University of Wyoming (UW) is thrilled to introduce the Brown and Gold Commitment Scholarship 2025, a prestigious financial aid opportunity tailored for first-time international freshman students.

Scholarship Benefits

The Brown and Gold Commitment Scholarship offers two funding tiers based on the applicant’s cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA):

  • $8,000 annually for students with a GPA of 3.4 – 4.0.
  • $5,000 annually for students with a GPA of 3.0 – 3.39.

These awards are renewable for up to eight semesters or until the completion of a first bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first. Funded by the generosity of UW Foundation donors and institutional aid, this scholarship enables recipients to focus on academic success without financial strain.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Apply for Admission: Submit an application to UW and pay the $40 non-refundable application fee.
  2. Submit Transcripts: Provide official high school or secondary school transcripts.
  3. Prove English Proficiency: Submit test scores from TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo.
  4. Complete Financial Documentation: Fill out the UW Confidential Financial Statement.
  5. Confirm Enrollment: Secure your spot by confirming enrollment no later than August 1, 2025, at 11:59 PM MDT.

Students who submit their final cumulative unweighted GPA by the start of their first semester may qualify for an increased award level, subject to available funding.

Scholarship Renewal Criteria

To maintain the Brown and Gold Commitment Scholarship, recipients must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Successfully complete at least 24 credit hours each academic year.

Failure to meet these renewal requirements may result in the loss of scholarship funding.
