🇬🇧 £34m in Funding: University of Reading Green Leader Scholarships 2025

The University of Reading has announced an exciting new initiative to nurture the next generation of sustainability leaders.

   

With a monumental investment of £34 million, the Global Sustainability Leaders Scholarship is set to provide financial and professional development support to up to 400 undergraduate students annually, starting in 2025. This program is designed to empower students committed to addressing the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.

Benefits of the Scholarship

Recipients of the Global Sustainability Leaders Scholarship will receive:

  • Financial Support: £6,000 annual maintenance funding, totaling up to £24,000 over a four-year undergraduate program.
  • Leadership Development: Access to mentorship programs and interdisciplinary learning opportunities focused on sustainability leadership.

Eligibility Criteria

Academic Requirements

  • Applicants must achieve AAA at A-level or equivalent qualifications.
  • For students from disadvantaged backgrounds, slightly relaxed academic requirements will apply to encourage inclusivity.

Background

  • Open to 250 UK students and 150 international students annually.
  • Half of the UK scholarships are reserved for students from underrepresented backgrounds.

  • Open to undergraduate students from all academic disciplines at the University of Reading’s UK campuses.
