What Is the Saïd Foundation Scholarship?

The Saïd Foundation partners with leading UK universities to offer full scholarships for one-year master’s programs. It’s built for ambitious graduates who plan to return home and drive positive change in their communities.

Who’s Eligible?

You qualify if you:

  • Hold Syrian, Jordanian, Lebanese, or Palestinian nationality
  • Live in one of those countries (Syrians abroad may also apply)
  • Have a bachelor’s degree equivalent to a UK 2:1 (or are in your final year)
  • Show leadership potential through work or volunteer experience
  • Are committed to returning home and creating social impact
  • Meet English language requirements (see below)
  • Apply for a master’s course at one of the Saïd Foundation’s partner universities

Recommended: Research Funding: £25,000–£40,000 with British Council’s 2025–26 UK–Partner Grants

English Language Requirements

Submit an official test result dated after October 1, 2024. Minimum scores:

  • IELTS Academic: 6.0 overall, with 6.0 in each band
  • Duolingo English Test: 105 overall, 105 in each skill
  • TOEFL iBT: 80 overall, with at least 20 per section

Screenshots won’t be accepted. Only original certificates count.

Reference Letters

You need three signed letters:

  1. Academic referee (e.g., a professor)
  2. Professional referee (e.g., employer)
  3. Community/volunteer referee

Each letter must:

  • Be in English on official letterhead
  • Include the referee’s contact details
  • Be tailored to your Saïd Foundation application

Applications missing any reference will be disqualified.

  2. Gather your transcripts, English test certificate, and references.
  3. Complete the online application by 5:00 PM UK time on Friday, October 31, 2025.
