๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ June 2023’s Initial Express Entry: Canada Welcomes 4,800 Aspirants

The month of June kicked off with its inaugural draw, succeeding the one on May 24 where a pool of 4,800 applicants boasting a minimum CRS grade of 488 were chosen to join.

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has successfully conducted the fourteenth draw of Express Entry for 2023, wherein it selected 4,800 individuals in an all-program round that required a least Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 486.

This draw, being the initial one for June, succeeded the one held on May 24 where 4,800 participants having a minimum CRS grade of 488 were chosen to partake.

The minimum CRS grade requirement was noted to be higher than the April 26 all-program round, which had a cut-off at 483.

According to Sean Fraser, Canada’s Minister of Immigration, aspirants of Express Entry can now participate in selection draws that are category-based.

Priority will be given by the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to Express Entry aspirants who either speak French or possess work experience in the following sectors:

  • Health care
  • STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
  • Various trades including carpenters, plumbers, and contractors
  • Transportation
  • Agriculture and agri-food industries

The minister has asserted that the IRCC’s ability to send more invites to individuals skilled in these specific professions will assist Canada in achieving its goal of drawing in-demand workforce to all regions.

The draws under the newly established categories are anticipated to commence later this season.

The new categories are not only intended to elevate the French language’s prominence in French minority communities outside Quebec but also to occupy job vacancies across Canada.

Earlier, in a separate announcement, the Canadian government stated that it will afford international students, who have been victims of fraud, the opportunity to submit proof that corroborates their claims and illustrates their predicament.
