1.) Online Radio Manager & Host

 

Jonhord Ventures is seeking an online radio manager and host to manage and host all aspect of its newly created online radio station.

Do you want to manage your own online radio programs?

Do you want to host and decide when to air programs?

If your answer to the above is yes then this might be the right job for you. Read on.

You will be responsible for supervising and coordinating schedules, workflow, and responsibilities of various departments if any. Ensure the success and profitability of the station. They help determine and meet the financial goals of station. Work closely with accountants and bookkeepers to track purchases, cash flow, and profits; prepare budgets; and maintain accountability and sales managers and advertising sales staff.

• Posses must technical knowledge to understand the operation of equipment. Make recommendations and decisions regarding the purchase of new equipment that may follow industry trends. They also ensure program and technical employees comply with broadcasting regulations and other laws.







Your Key Responsibilities will be:

• Produce a compelling radio show by using creativity, imagination and exercise of independent professional judgment in writing, producing, interviewing, taping or broadcasting on-air content
• Great with phones/interacting with callers, interviewing artists/guests and hosting live events
• Connect with listeners via phones, social, video, web and on-site
• Daily social media engagement; website and digital content generation
• Create station Programming, Promotions, and Sales meetings and events
• Live Broadcasts and station appearances, whether paid or unpaid
• Commercial Production; create killer endorsement ads – both on air and online – for mutually agreed upon products
• Voice other commercials as assigned
• Handles emergency news/weather in show; on call for weather disasters/breaking news
• Ensures logged commercials, promotions, sweepers and any other programming element essential to the station’s operations are aired
• Performs additional duties, such as production, directing, writing advertising. Create and follow a music log

Qualification Required & Experience

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• 2 + years of Full-Time On-Air experience with successful ratings history required
• Strong production skills and knowledge of Op X, VOX Pro/Adobe Audition and Audacity
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and social networking
• Strong knowledge of all broadcasting rules and laws
• Socially informed and perceptive; up-to-date and in tune daily with the local and national trends and/or specialized knowledge of topics/events related to on-air discussions
• Demonstrated upbeat personality, informative, entertaining and engaging on the air; able to relate to station audience
• Pleasant, charismatic and well-controlled voice; excellent pronunciation
• Excellent verbal and written communication and editing skills; proficient in grammar; ability to make others feel comfortable and open up on air
• Demonstrated creativity and imagination
• Audio demo of on-air interviews, commentary, announcements, etc.

Main Responsibilities:

• Use market specific knowledge, signals and insights to design and implement scalable solutions to improve the safety support of the Africa region, starting with West African markets
• Lead daily media enforcement operations and agent workflows across multiple geographies to respond to complex user escalations and reports, especially related to media on all Twitter owned platforms current and future.

Requirements:

• BA/BS degree or equivalent local degree or experience required
• 4-5+ years of related experience with content moderation or online operations or with project and program management, preferably in a fast-paced online support environment or a role involving vendor relationship management
• Fluency in English and Pidgin is required
• Ability to work alongside technical stakeholders including Product and Engineering to define tooling requirements and understand technical and product processes

2.) Staff Designer – Global Participation

 

Twitter is looking for a highly entrepreneurial Staff Designer to help establish a bespoke product strategy for Twitter in Africa and execute against it with support from a dedicated local team. Ghana and Nigeria will be the first countries in Africa in which we pilot this new approach of building an in-market team to locally tailor our global product to the needs of a specific region.

8.) Vendor Manager, Twitter Service

 

Twitter is seeking a Vendor Manager who will support the end-to-end vendor relationship for suppliers. You will utilize systems knowledge, analytical capabilities to ensure that vendor support performance obligations are being met across multiple programs. Through effective administration, you will help define and maximize value out of existing supplier engagements. This is an individual contributor (IC) role.

What You’ll Do:

• Work with internal/external stakeholders and vendor partners, which will include executing operational strategies for Twitter’s global outsourcing model, through proactive communication and facilitation of cross-functional projects.
• Collaborate with vendor counterparts in regards to onboarding and offboarding of agents, process excellence and improvements, infrastructure support.

• Continuously strive towards improving efficiency, reducing waste and adding value to existing processes and workflows.
• Facilitate innovative initiatives by developing a deep understanding of business requirements and maximizing value from vendor partners.

Qualification Required & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or local equivalent
• 3-4 years of working experience in project management
• Have prior vendor support, relationship management, and/or engagement experience (2+ years)
• Experience working with content management systems
• Comfortable with analytics
• Experience working with West African and African markets

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Statistics, or Data Analytics
• Experience working in hi-tech, online or telecommunications industries
• Languages strongly preferred: English, French, and Pidgin
• Experience with Business Process Outsourcing, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen or PMP
• Domain and Industry Experience: Background experience with call center services, data analysis, tech troubleshooting, social media / content moderation background
• Experience working in hi-tech, online or telecommunications, COMO industries

9.) Curation Lead – Editorial Curation

 

Twitter is looking for a passionate people manager to take on the role of Curation Lead for Nigeria. This person will manage a team that is focused on quickly, accurately and impartially summarising complex conversations that are unfolding in real-time on Twitter and important to users in Nigeria.

The Lead for Nigeria will be responsible for overseeing the management of the team and driving key projects to ensure the team delivers on its goals and strategy.

This role is located in Accra, Ghana and focused on Nigeria. You may need to work weekends.

The ideal candidate will have experience in people and project management in journalism, content moderation or a similar industry. They will have a passion for growing and developing an ambitious, mission-driven group of individuals.

The ideal candidate for this role should have a deep, non-partisan, understanding of Nigerian news and politics. They should feel comfortable fact-checking content related to politics, social justice, medical science or local news.

They must be able to display an expert knowledge of media law and a strong understanding of Twitter’s role in the world as well as general knowledge across News, Sports and Entertainment verticals.

While this role is primarily focused on English and English Pidgin content, working proficiency in one or more of the following languages is an advantage: Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo.

Success in this role is measured by:

• Implementing Editorial Curation’s strategy for success on a market level
• Driving Curation’s involvement in cross-functional projects related to company priorities
• Building a positive, proactive and inclusive team culture that makes all Tweeps feel like their contribution matters
• Selecting, training and managing a team of Curators of varying levels of experience
• Ensuring the team has a well-rounded and diverse set of skills and knowledge

Responsibilities:

• Providing easy-to-understand, constructive feedback to help team and individual development
• Planning and optimizing the team’s schedules and working patterns
• Preparing at least six months in advance for major upcoming global events
• Identify new processes, tools and workflows to improve the effectiveness of team performance

Qualification Required & Experience

• BA/BSc degree or equivalent experience
• Written and verbal fluency in English; other west African languages are a plus
• Excellent written communication skills
• 6-8+ years of experience working at management level in journalism, content moderation or similar
• Excellent understanding of the Nigerian political system
• Extensive experience of using Twitter, preferably as a tool in reporting
• Experience with news gathering tools like Tweetdeck, Dataminr for News, etc preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

• Lead purposeful relationship-building with a wide array of partners and other research teams

• Advocate for insights in order to drive action and impact by providing compelling narratives and artefacts
• Lead purposeful relationship-building with a wide array of partners and other research teams
• Promote and lead the building of foresight and synthesis of trends through investigation of rapidly shifting marketplace dynamics, emerging data sources & technologies and the ever-changing consumer and business landscape to drive better business decisions around emerging opportunities

Qualification Required & Experience

• 7+ years conducting user research and/or market research, with an excellent command of both qualitative and quantitative methods
• Experience working with teams and conducting research globally, across culture and languages
• Experience working in startups or on highly ambitious zero-to-one projects.
• Fluency in English. Fluency in at least one local language in West Africa
• Bachelor’s Degree (minimum requirement)
• (Optional) Advanced degree in Business (MBA), Communication, Psychology, or a related field
• Strong foundational knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research tools and techniques

• Curate live updates around various topics and events across civic integrity, local news, misinformation, entertainment and sports for Twitter customers
• Weave together stories from sequences of Tweets
• Identify events and emerging trends on Twitter that will drive unique content experiences
• Work cross-collaboratively with teammates and internal stakeholders to create strategies for key events in West Africa time zone

Qualification Required & Experience

Must haves:

• Strong real-time news judgment: Able to provide timely and accurate coverage of the most impactful conversations on the platform.
• Excellent editing skills. Can quickly identify ways to improve copy and effectively communicate changes while working with others in the team.
• Use Twitter and very familiar with the product
• Experience in online content moderation
• Excellent understanding of the Nigerian political system
• Deadline-oriented and thrives in fast-paced, changing environments
• Fluency and ability to read and write in English and Pidgin English

Nice to haves:

• An interest in Machine Learning and Human-in-the-Loop technology

Twitter is looking for a public relations expert to help manage public communications for Twitter in Africa with a focus on Ghana and Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have strong relationships with local media and the ability to create and implement strategic PR plans that support Twitter’s business objectives. This role requires the ability to explain the dimensions of Twitter’s policies, product strengths and strategic vision to diverse audiences across all channels of communication. Twitter’s ideal candidate will be proactive, hard-working, creative, and have a love of consumer technology and Twitter.

What you’ll do:

• Develop a proactive communications strategy
• Work with the technology media to highlight product announcements and explain new features
• Support the business by communicating the value of Twitter by creating outstanding B2B campaigns
• Implement programs and campaigns, in conjunction with PR agencies and partners, that help drive user growth and engagement
• Manage incoming media inquiries and develop close relationships with key reporters / publications
• Develop and write communication plans, blog posts, statements, and Tweets

General Instructions for Applicants

    • Nationality: Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth.
    • Age: Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 22 years by 28 February 2022 for non-tradesmen / women, 18 and 25 years by 28 February 2022 for tradesmen / women. Those applying as Assistant Chaplains / Assistant Imams and Drivers must be between the ages of 18 and 28 years by 28 February 2022.




  • Marital Status: All applicants must be single.
  • Height: Minimum height is 1.66m or 5.4ft for males and 1.63m or 5.3ft for females.
  • Medical Fitness: Applicants must be medically and physically fit and must meet the Nigerian Air Force medical and employment standards.
  • Local Government Area Attestation Form: Applicants’ Local Government Area Attestation Form must be signed by a military officer from the same State as the applicants not below the rank of Wing Commander in the Nigerian Air Force or equivalent in the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Navy or a Police Officer of the rank of Assistant Commissioner and above, or Local Government Area Chairmen/Secretaries and Magistrates from the Local Government Area of the applicants. The Local Government Area Attestation Form must be accompanied by the passport photograph and photocopy of the signees’ Drivers Licence or National ID Card or International Passport. The signee is also to authenticate behind the applicant’s passport photograph.
  • Presentation of original credentials: Successful applicants are required to submit their original credentials for scrutiny at the Selection Board Interview Exercise. The credentials include the following:
    • Two recent passport size photographs to be stamped and countersigned by the officer of appropriate rank as specified in Paragraph 6.
    • Original and Photocopy of Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age.
    • Original and Photocopy of Educational / Trade Certificates.
    • Original and Photocopy of Indigeneship certificate from applicant’s Local Government/State of Origin.
    • Original and Photocopy of Letter of Attestation of Good Character signed by Officer of appropriate rank as specified in paragraph 6.
  • Any applicant suspected to have impersonated or submitted false document(s) shall be disqualified from the Selection Exercise. Also, any false declaration detected later may lead to withdrawal from training. Such applicants will be handed over to the Nigeria Police for prosecution. The Nigerian Air Force will not entertain any enquiries in respect of applicants whose applications have been rejected. Interested applicants are to note that the online registration is FREE OF CHARGE. Applicants are required to fill in valid email addresses and telephone numbers in the appropriate spaces provided in the Application Form.
  • Application Forms: On completion of the application forms, applicants must print out the underlisted documents:
    • Acknowledgment Slip.
    • Attestation of Parent / Guardians Form.
    • Local Government Area Attestation Form.
  • Successful applicants would be invited for Selection Board Interview Exercise through the portal.





Academic Requirements for those applying as Non-Tradesmen and Women

  • Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 22 years by 28 February 2022.
  • Non-Tradesmen / women: Applicants applying for Non-Tradesmen / Women must possess a minimum of 5 credits including Mathematics and English Language in not more than 2 sittings in SSCE / NECO / GCE / NABTEB. In addition, applicants are required to possess their school’s testimonials.

Academic / Professional Requirements for those applying as Tradesmen and Women
Tradesmen / women:

  • Applicants applying as tradesmen and women must be between 18 and 25 years of age except for those applying as assistant chaplains/assistant imams and drivers who must be between18 and 28 years.
  • Applicants must possess at least a Lower Credit/Merit in ND/NCE or any relevant trade certificates from reputable and government approved institutions/organisations with a minimum of 2 passes and a credit in English Language in not more than 2 sittings in SSCE / GCE / NECO/NABTEB.
  • Applicants applying as drivers must possess a minimum of 2 passes in SSCE / GCE / NECO / NABTEB with a credit in English Language, trade test certificate and valid drivers licence.
  • Applicants applying as sportsmen / women must possess 2 passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB with a credit in English and evidence of professional experience which should include certificates and medals.

  • The Creative Strategist is a position we’re hiring for in our Lagos office. The role will report to the Head of Creative Strategy and work very closely with the Director of Digital Strategy & Operations and the Director of Sales.

  • Assist in developing sales and marketing material to support the Sales teams across Africa.

3.) Finance Officer

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Position Summary

  • Pulse is looking to hire a Finance Officer who will help with the daily operations of the Finance department with regards to customer invoicing, bookings, analysis, reporting and other functions, working closely with all departments to help the company achieve its revenue and profit targets.
  • This role reports to the Head of Finance and will be based in our Lagos office.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generating, booking and clearing of invoices accurately for customers using the ERP
  • Ensure timely and accurate booking and realization of revenues
  • Support the management of account receivables
  • Reconciliation of client account statements working closely with the Sales department
  • Ensure the correct recording of COGS from all Ad Managers and realize corresponding revenue in real-time
  • Compute monthly commissions, variable salaries and bonuses for the Sales department and other Executives
  • Ensures all invoices, purchase orders, tax certificates, contracts and other relevant documentation are compliant according to local tax regulations and uploaded/ referenced in the ERP and Finance Google Drive
  • Support with month closing, ensuring Finance department deadlines are met
  • Support with sales, finance and business intelligence analysis and reporting
  • Work with the Sales and other departments to ensure compliance with business processes

4.) Motion Graphics Video Editor

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Position Summary

  • We are looking for an experienced Motion Graphics Video Editor to join our production team.
  • Reporting to the Director of Commercial Video, the Motion Graphics Video Editor will be responsible for producing and editing high quality motion graphics to be used in client videos, websites, social media and a vast array of other media.

The Motion Graphics Video Editor will be responsible for the job duties below:

  • Create motion graphics and other video content with high visual impact for client and other projects
  • Work to a brief, developing and pitching creative ideas and concepts, and choosing the appropriate media and style to meet objectives
  • Establish priorities while handling multiple projects and communicate accurate time estimates for each part of the process
  • Overall editing responsibilities for quality control – including proofreading and cross-checking facts,
  • Spelling, grammar, writing style, design pages, photos, images, sound, colour, etc.
  • Secure appropriate rights, licenses and clearances for video usage, image usage and soundtrack usage to protect our clients and Pulse from copyright infringement
  • Ensure proper organisation and safekeeping of video footage and logs and their backups
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly video and design programs such as Adobe Premiere Pro, 3ds Max, After Effects, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and other programs from the Adobe Creative Suite to ensure that Pulse remains on the cutting edge

Job Introduction

  • We are looking for a Video Journalist to work in a new Innovation hub in Lagos delivering original digital video content for African audiences.
  • The BBC is an international multimedia broadcaster on radio, TV, online and social networks with a weekly global audience of 320 million. As part of an historic and exciting expansion of BBC Africa, the BBC World Service is launching a portfolio of new services and content. This will double the size of the African service.
  • BBC Africa aims to report in a lively and engaging fashion, and interactivity, promotion of content on social media and social newsgathering form a large part of its activities across all platforms. It is via social media that BBC Africa Service seeks to engage younger and digitally savvy audiences across Africa and the diaspora.
  • You’re a creative and versatile journalist, with a strong understanding of what makes good digital video and how video is consumed on digital platforms. We’re looking for producer who is passionate about digital storytelling and can shoot and edit their own content. As the digital landscape is changing you would need to be as nimble as the technologies.
  • You will need sound editorial judgement, understanding of Africa news agendas, the ability to tell complex stories in an engaging way, sharp editing skills and ability respond to breaking news. You will be adept with technology, quickly pick up new skills and turn ideas into engaging storytelling. All candidates will be expected to demonstrate a clear understanding of digital platforms as well as video editing skills.
