1.) Chauffeur
The U. S. Embassy is seeking eligible applicants for the position of Chauffeur. The work schedule for this position is Full Time 40 hours per week.
Duties
• Under the supervision of the DCM's Office Management Specialist, incumbent is responsible for the operation of Front Office vehicles, to transport the DCM, Ambassador or Charge'. Jobholder ensures vehicle performs efficiently to provide services to front office as well as VIP visitors.
• Keeps assigned vehicle clean and serviceable condition and performs minor preventive maintenance.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Completion of secondary school is required.
Requirements:
• A minimum of five years' experience as a chauffeur in a large organization or in an executive office is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
• A good knowledge of the city and alternate routes to Ghana's government ministries and agencies and all diplomatic and international organization.
• Must have full knowledge of Department of State regulations regarding the operation of a motor vehicle.
• Possess thorough knowledge of the traffic laws, and the streets of Accra. A general knowledge about the road systems in Ghana is required.
LANGUAGE:
• Good working knowledge of English (Spoken/reading/written) is required.
• Must have the ability to speak at least one Ghanaian local language. (Language proficiency will be tested).

2.) Visa Assistant
The U.S. Mission in Accra, Ghana is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Visa Assistant. The schedule for this position is Full time 40 hours per week.
Duties
• Basic Function of the Position – Perform clerical work pertaining to visa processing and perform other consular duties, such as crisis response, as required. Be equally operationally effective with nonimmigrant, immigrant, and diversity visa and other travel document processing. Properly handle personal identifiable information (PII) and other sensitive information.
• With regards to consular services: properly accept applications and documents; input and verify data; prepare electronic and paper case files; draft internal and external communication; manage applicants and other consular clients; handle, transmit, archive, retrieve, and dispose of consular files.
Qualifications:
• All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
Requirements:
• EXPERIENCE: Three years of progressively responsible experience in a position of trust (i.e., handling money or sensitive materials) involving application of regulations to individual cases. Prior work experience must involve direct contact with customers.
• JOB KNOWLEDGE: Understanding of the Consular Leadership Tenets. Progressively greater knowledge of the primary regulatory authority for visa processing, the 9 FAM. Knowledge of customer service precepts. Knowledge of specific protocols for protecting PII and other sensitive information.
Education Requirements:
• At least two years of post-secondary study is required.
• LANGUAGE: Level IV English required in speaking, reading and writing (fluent). Must be a native speaker of a Ghanaian language and a competent speaker of a least two Ghanaian languages (Language proficiency will be tested.)
• SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be absolutely trustworthy as this is a position of trust, involving the handling and safe-keeping of highly sensitive items such as U.S. visa foils. Able to type 25 wpm. After training, ability to use both the NIV and the IVO Consular automated systems. Ability to provide excellent customer service at all times.

3.) Agricultural Marketing Specialist
The U. S. Embassy is seeking eligible applicants for the position of Agricultural Marketing Specialist. The work schedule for this position is full time 40 hours per week.
Duties
• The Agricultural Marketing Specialist (mid-level specialist) is responsible for representing the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) in Accra, Ghana.
• Responsibilities include conducting research in major market access constraints and trade opportunities, resolving market access issues, and monitoring developments in trade policy and competitor activities affecting U.S. trade interests.
• Develops broad range of professional and social relationships (mid-to-high levels) to exchange information and gain cooperation on substantive marketing, trade, and agricultural policy matters.
• Independently conceptualizes and develops marketing activities based on research and analysis of market information and hosts dialogues with public and private sector officials.
• Executes digital, social and traditional media activities.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Food and Agricultural Marketing, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Agriculture, International Trade, or Hospitality Management is required.
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum five years of work experience in one or more fields of agricultural economics, agricultural policy, commodity trade and marketing, project management, and marketing analysis/research that includes extensive analysis and report writing on complex subjects is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
• Detailed knowledge of FAS goals, programs, reporting requirements and procedures, and of U.S. agricultural policies and trading practices followed by American exporters.
• Thorough knowledge of agricultural practices, market conditions, and government policies in the host country.
• Knowledge of host government structure and responsibilities of various ministries and offices, congressional and legislative processes as it relates to economic, trade, and agricultural policy matters is required.
• Significant knowledge of international agreements relating to agricultural policy, and a strong understanding of agricultural economic supply/demand theories and concepts.
Evaluations:
• LANGUAGE: Fluent English speaking, reading and writing is required. Fluent Akan speaking, reading and writing is required. (Language proficiency will be tested.)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to create documents and spreadsheets, maintain and update databases, and develop presentations.
• Use of FAS specialized software and data analysis programs.
• A valid driving license is required.
• Must be knowledgeable in analyzing agricultural production, global agricultural trade concepts, and economic supply/demand concepts. Required to analyze and apply complex statistical data and maintain data sets for accurate commodity and trade reporting.
• Drafts highly specialized reports on markets and trade policy.
• Must have excellent time management skills to cope with the diversity of work and deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively with government, public, and private individuals to obtain information and resolve trade issues. (Driving skills will be tested).

4.) Protocol/RSO Assistant
The U.S. Embassy is seeking eligible applicants for the position of Protocol/RSO Assistant. The work schedule for this position is full time 40 hours per week.
Duties
• Under the Supervision of Chief Of Mission Office Management Specialist (COM OMS), the incumbent serves as primary Contact Management Database (CMD) manager and is responsible for maintaining the Mission's Contact Management Database and coordinating training programs for Regional Security Officer (RSO) nominated International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) and Regional Training Center candidates.
• S/he updates Mission diplomatic list and requests updated contacts for host government officials and cabinet members, international organizations and other relevant contacts within Ghana, and provides guidance on issues related to Ghanaian protocol matters and local customary procedures.
• The incumbent is responsible for collecting, sorting and initial vetting of correspondence and for the coordination and delivery of Mission-produced correspondence, gratuities and documentation.
Qualification Required & Experience
Education Requirements:
• Mandatory: Successful completion of two (2) years of college in Liberal arts; management studies, information studies, communication
studies or certification in full time secretarial or protocol-related training is required.
Requirements:
• EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three (3) years of experience as administrative assistant, program assistant, or protocol support-oriented
experience is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
• Substantial knowledge of the government sector or the international community and familiarity with host government official contacts and knowledge of Ghanaian political institutions and structures is required.
• Must have good knowledge of local social and diplomatic customs and practices as well as knowledge in general etiquette and decorum.
LANGUAGE:
Level IV English (spoken and written) and any Ghanaian local language is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES Optional:
• Must be able to demonstrate strong communication skills, interpersonal and customer services skills.
• Must have strong computer technology skills including MS Office suite and must have the ability to process data using recommended Contacts Management Database.
• The ability to organize and prioritize work and to work quickly with maximum efficiency and minimal supervision is required.
• Must be able to work on a team, pay attention to detail and multi-task. Must be able to type 40 wpm.
