About the Fellowship

The program will run from October 20 to 24, 2025, in Portugal and will welcome up to 30 selected fellows from UN-recognized developing countries. Participants will engage in advanced training and collaborative sessions designed to strengthen their capabilities in ocean policy development, implementation, and global marine diplomacy.

This initiative is aligned with SDG 14 – Life Below Water, supporting countries in preserving marine biodiversity and managing ocean resources sustainably.

  • Ambassadors or senior diplomats working in ocean affairs
  • Mid-to-senior level professionals actively involved in national marine policy
  • Candidates with long-term commitments to marine governance
  • Proficiency in English (the official language of the program)
