🇦🇹 Fully Funded: Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarship Program 2025

The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC) has launched the 8th round of the Global Citizen Scholarship Program, designed to empower young African leaders in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
About the Scholarship
This fully virtual program provides African youth with the knowledge, skills, and funding required to implement their own SDG Micro-Projects—initiatives aimed at addressing urgent local challenges. In 2025, 14 young Africans will be selected, alongside three students from Management Center Innsbruck (MCI) University, creating a diverse group of 17 changemakers.

Upon completing the program, scholars will receive a certificate signed by H.E. Ban Ki-moon and H.E. Dr. Heinz Fischer, co-chairs of BKMC.
Eligibility Criteria
This scholarship is open to African youth who meet the following requirements:
- African citizenship
- Aged 20 – 35 years at the time of application
- Master’s degree holder (or first-year Master’s students in exceptional cases)
- Proven commitment to the SDGs and global citizenship
- Minimum English proficiency level of B2 (European Standards)

The application process is competitive, so ensure your materials are well-prepared. Applicants must submit:
- Personal and professional details (name, education, experience, contact info)
- SDG Micro-Project proposal (title, problem statement, implementation plan)
- Motivational statement explaining why they should be selected
- CV highlighting achievements
- 30-second video introduction (MP4 or MOV format)
- High-quality portrait picture (JPEG or PNG format)
