Detailed Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, candidates must:
- Hold citizenship, refugee status, or be a British Protected Person in an eligible Commonwealth country.
- Have permanent residence in a Commonwealth country.
- Be ready to begin their academic journey in the UK in September 2024.
- Have a first degree of at least upper second-class (2:1) honors by September 2024, or hold a second-class degree alongside a relevant Master’s degree.
- Not have spent more than one year in a high-income country for education or employment purposes.
- Need financial assistance to afford studying in the UK.
- Submit all necessary documentation in the required format.
Comprehensive Scholarship Benefits
- Airfare: Return flights from and to the scholar’s home country, fully funded by the CSC.
- Tuition Fees: Full coverage by the CSC and the host university.
- Monthly Stipend: Scholars receive £1,347, or £1,652 in London, for living expenses.
- Warm Clothing Allowance: Provided where necessary.
- Thesis Grant: Financial support for thesis or dissertation preparation.
- Study Travel Grant: Funds for educational travel within the UK or abroad.
- TB Test Contribution: Reimbursement for mandatory tuberculosis tests needed for visa applications.
- Child Allowance: £576.61 per month for the first child, and £143 per month for additional children, for eligible scholars.
- Support for Disabled Scholars: Assessment and potential financial support for scholars with disabilities.
Application Guidelines
Interested candidates should apply for a Master’s course at a participating UK university and concurrently apply for the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship.
