Zhejiang University of Science and Technology (ZUST), in partnership with the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC), is now accepting applications for the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship 2025.

   

This scholarship supports both aspiring and current Chinese language educators, offering financial assistance and professional development in one of China’s top applied science universities.

What the ZUST Scholarship Covers

Successful applicants will receive:

  • Full tuition coverage for selected academic programs
  • Free on-campus housing or a monthly housing subsidy
  • Monthly living allowance, depending on the program type
  • Comprehensive medical insurance throughout the study period
  • Academic and cultural exchange opportunities within the ZUST campus

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Non-Chinese citizen aged 16 to 35 (up to 45 for current Chinese language teachers)
  • Physically and mentally healthy
  • No criminal record
  • Strong interest in Chinese language education
  • Able to comply with Chinese laws and university regulations
  • Bachelor’s degree applicants must generally be under 25

Scholarship Program Categories at ZUST

1. Master’s in International Chinese Language Education

  • Start Date: September 2025
  • Duration: Up to 2 years
  • Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • HSK Level 5 (score ≥ 210) and HSKK Intermediate (score ≥ 60)
    • Priority is given to applicants with a signed teaching contract or job offer

2. One-Year Study Programs

  • Start Date: September 2025
  • Duration: 11 months
  • Requirements vary by focus area:
    • International Chinese Language Education: HSK Level 3 (score ≥ 270) + HSKK
    • Chinese Language & Literature, History, or Philosophy: HSK Level 4 (score ≥ 180) + HSKK Intermediate
    • Chinese Language Studies: HSK Level 3 (score ≥ 210) + HSKK (preferred)

3. One-Semester Study Programs

  • Start Dates: September 2025 or March 2026
  • Duration: 5 months
  • Requirements:
    • HSK Level 3 (score ≥ 180) + HSKK for all subject areas
