🇬🇧 University of Brighton International Design Fellowship 2025
The Centre for Design History at the University of Brighton is now accepting applications for its 2025/26 International Visiting Research Fellowship. If you work in design, visual or material culture, this is your chance to plug into a world-class research network and turbocharge your project.
Fellowship Highlights

This fellowship is built for collaboration, encouraging you to exchange ideas and shape new perspectives within one of the UK’s most interdisciplinary design hubs.
Funding Package
You’ll receive:
- Up to £1,000 for travel, accommodation and research expenses
- An extra £200 administrative fee covered by CDH
- Full access to University of Brighton facilities—libraries, archives, seminars, campus card and university email
Note: There’s no salary or stipend. Plan to fund your stay for one week up to two months on site, with the fellowship running over a full calendar year.

Who Should Apply
Ideal candidates are those who:
- Hold a doctorate or possess equivalent research experience
- Are actively researching in one of the six CDH themes
- Thrive in collaborative, interdisciplinary environments
- Can spend part of their fellowship in Brighton
If you completed your PhD within the last 24 months, consider the CDH Post-doc VRF scheme instead.
