What is the Vanier Canada Graduate (Vanier CGS) Scholarship?
The Canadian Government made a public announcement on June 26, 2023, inviting applications for the 2023 Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship.
This scholarship program, available to applicants worldwide, including Canadian residents, provides fully funded opportunities for Doctoral degrees, Masters leading to PhD, and PhD degrees for a duration of up to three years.

Eligibility Requirements
- Candidates can be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or foreign nationals.
- Only one Canadian institution, which must have a Vanier CGS quota, can nominate candidates.
- Candidates must be pursuing their first doctoral degree, including joint programs with a substantial research component, such as MD/PhD, DVM/PhD, JD/PhD, or MBA/PhD.

Application Procedure for the 2023 Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship
- Applicants must apply to the Canadian universities participating in the Vanier Canada Scholarship Program. (The Link is provided above) or simply visit https://vanier.gc.ca/en/appendix_b_cgs_2021_22_to_2023_24.html
- Each university has a unique deadline, which should be noted by applicants.
- Applications must be made to ONE University only for Vanier. The University will assess your application and if found suitable, nominate you.
- The final decision will be taken by Vanier.
